Apartment Review
Absolutely Horrible

Living here was the worst decision I ever made. The only good things about this place are its proximity to the metro and the parking. Now, on to the negatives. Where do I even begin? My two biggest complaints are the neighbors and the management office. My neighbors were complete scum of the earth. I realized after moving in that the majority were Section 8 residents. My neighbors upstairs literally shook my entire apartment with their bass every single night until 4 am for the 7 months that I lived there. I had to get up at 6 am for work, which meant that if I was lucky, I got 2 hours of sleep a night. The "concierge" was not effective in shutting them up, nor was the office staff. I filed multiple complaints against the unit and was told, after pestering them for 2 months to do something about it, that they didn't believe me. I called the police on them three times. When I tried to politely ask these people to turn it down, I got yelled at and called a series of profane names through the door. Another neighbor of mine threatened to kill me - in front of her six year old son. Another neighbor would let her dog out to use the bathroom in the hallway. People steal the free weights from the gym constantly. They openly deal drugs on the steps. They let their kids play in the hallways because they're too lazy to take them outside. And they don't care because their rent is 1/2 what yours is...for the same apartment! The construction of the building is terrible. You can hear every single word and step that any of your neighbors take. Be prepared to hear people on their balconies screaming about their baby daddy drama. If your upstairs neighbors even get up to walk across their apartment, it'll be so loud in your apartment that your walls will actually rattle. Everything is broken all the time - from appliances and hardware in my apartment to the gym equipment (all 3 treadmills were broken for several months). Now, on to the office staff. Once you sign the lease, their attitude changes completely. When I reported that my life was threatened by another resident TWICE, the leasing agent's response to me was "She only said she was going to beat you to a pulp". They did absolutely nothing about the complaints (by me and by other residents) filed against apartments that were blasting their bass so loudly that the whole building shook. They did nothing about the threats made on my life. They actually charged me to break my lease after all this. There's a new property manager every week, so you have to constantly restart the process of trying to get them to do something. Other minor annoyances that people wrote about are true - the washer/dryer is tiny and ineffective, the bathroom fan is extremely loud and can't be turned off separately from the lights, the place is EXTREMELY ghetto - I mean people who are extremely proud of being ghetto and have no ambition to make anything better of themselves. There are also mentally disabled people all over the complex, which is only an issue because they aren't being properly cared for. They advertise rates that aren't actually valid and specials that don't actually exist to bring you in. Don't live here - you will regret it, and you'll be out a bunch of money to get away from it!
