Apartment Review for Fort Totten Station - Washington, DC

Do not live here. You will not be pleased. The layout of our 2 bedroom apartment didn't even allow for a queen size bed the the 2nd bedroom. Also, the closet space is pitiful. We had to buy a shelf unit to get more space. Now the good stuff...the apartment only allows for 1 parking space per apartment regardless of how many tenants signed the lease. We were told the 2nd car should apply for DC parking zone sticker and park on the street. Only 1 building has a pet policy which was the last building to be opened. We had major problems with our air conditioning unit which had to be handled on the corporate level after we will insulted and told that we needed to read the instruction manual. There is only person who handles higher management issues and this gentlemen asked me if I had any "allergy issues" as to why I couldn't simply open up a window if my apartment was too hot (even though electricity is not covered in rent). Recently cars have been broken into in broad daylight. We are having to break the lease because of new job oppurtunities and are being told we have to pay 2 month rent to break the lease. Please be careful when you sign your lease and don't take any specials this place offers you because believe me you will have to pay it back. Please if you want to move here....do not just look at the place and talk to the leasing office. Go to the parking lot and wait and ask multiple people about the place. I'm sure you will hear something similiar to this....
