Hello Fellow DC Apartment Dwellers, So you are looking to live "this close to the metro", well think long and hard about this choice. Fort Totten Station Apartments in Washington DC might seem like an apartment searchers dream come true at first glance (cheapish rent, close to the metro, new), but a deeper look will revel a management staff rife with bad attitude, a maintenance staff that can enter your home at any time night or day without even the slightest bit of forewarning or after acknowledgement (over ridding your security alarm for their convenience), the cheapest construction known to man, neighbors who have never set foot out of the ghetto and continue to live as such (loud music all day & all night, allowing trash to collect in their homes, and feeling free to scream out of their windows to passers-by or their guests who cannot get in the building because the tenant cannot or will not spring for phone service to buzz the guest in), a plethora of violent or extremely disturbed mentally disabled individuals, rats that infest the trash area leaving piles and piles of droppings all about, which inevitably are trapped on your shoes and this is jut the awful beginning. Now what makes all of these gripes unbearable is the fact that the management will not do anything to alleviate the issues. One nasty bi*@h, she has long ghetto girl braids right now, but her hair is usually short and she insists on being called Ms. XYZ, screamed at my neighbor and friend. My neighbor, we'll call her Jane for privacy, called the leasing office one morning as she was on her way out of the building to inform them that one of the many mentally disabled tenants had thrown food all over the entranceway that the mess was causing a discussing stench and was unsightly. The Bi*@h screamed, insert nasty, rude stereotypical angry black woman voice, "don’t call here with that mess, we'll get somebody on it when we can" click... Well if that is not enough to make you question moving here then I don't know what is! To take a line from Mr. Rogers "Won't you be my neighbor?"--- I wouldn’t.... LOL |
