Almost everything about the building is great. The staff is responsive and polite. It's an older building but the apartments are pretty spacious and relatively maintained. You have to realize that living in Columbia Heights and on 16th Street you're going to sacrifice certain things. 16th Street is always extremely busy and loud. The area isn't the safest either. My little sister visited me the first day I moved in and within 20 mins, her car was broken into. Muggings are not a rarity. But, the rent is cheap in comparison for the area. The reason I would not recommend the Majestic is the pest problem. Roaches are everywhere, on every floor. From the basement up. I've gotten to the point where I don't eat in my own home. I've tried every poison/pest control solution out there. I've poured gallons of boric acid everywhere. I've put weatherstripping around my front door (the roaches kept coming in from the hallway). The management just shruggs and says there's nothing they can do. I keep my place spotless but you can't control how other people keep their places. Unless you're desperate, I would not recommend the Majestic as a place to live.
