The management of this building is irresponsible and unresponsive to any maintenance requests, lease issues, or other problems. The refrigerator in my apartment leaked for 3 months before it finally stopped working all together. I called numerous times and left many phone messages to report this problem, but no action was ever taken. It was only by contacting the management company, Pinnacle, that the refrigerator was replaced (with a smaller, used one). The apartment building is old and water damage to the walls frequently occurs. I had a chunk of plaster that crumbled off the wall in my bedroom, which remained unfixed for over a year (at which point I moved out). There is also a roach problem, for which the management claimed to be spraying some of the apartments. If they were actually spraying apartments, it was incredibly ineffective because I had to buy new roach traps every few months (as well as seal open cracks, constantly clean, and get rid of all cardboard boxes) to prevent a total invasion in my kitchen. The on-site management also did not respond to my request for an apartment walk-through upon termination of my lease. These are just some examples of problems in the apartment that the on-site management will not respond to. Everything in the apartment that needs to get done requires persistent fighting on the part of the tenant.
The only redeeming qualities about this apartment are the other tenants who are friendly and helpful and the relatively close location to downtown DC. |
