| My apartment doesn't look bad at all. I live in an efficiency that has working everything. The issues that I have with this place is their policies and service.
The area isn't great, I've heard more gunshots right outside the windows than I have in a full length feature film. A few weeks ago a guy was shot right outside the building. Since I've lived there a guy was killed right outside the building.
I've had a mice problem that they told me that I would have to deal with until they sent someone out on the third Thursday of the month. Are you kidding me!?! He came out, gave me recommendations for them to fix, put some sticky paper down and left. I have taken matters into my own hands with foaming insulation, but that hasn't worked. One was in a bag of important papers 2:30 a.m. this morning. You can hear the mice in the walls. The property manager does keep the place clean, but locks up the washing room at 8:00 p.m. because of people stealing out of the storage area.
Also, I wanted to give my 30 day notice in the middle of April and was told that they will not prorate the rent. Therefore, even if I am out by May 19th I would have to still pay all of May rent.
The noise level is deafening. I have to turn my t.v. on high volume just to hear what's being said because of those outside. They have no common courtesy for those that are sleeping at night. I've heard more loud arguments and cars all times of night than I have in my whole life. Every night I feared that my car may be stolen, or worse my apt. broken into as I was on the first floor.
I'm glad to be moving. I will say that if you want a cheap place to live, then this is your place. Just don't complain when common sense and common courtesy excapes management. |
